For 34 years I worked in healthcare, from the Operating Room (Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery) to Infectious Disease; supporting individuals through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I witnessed the extraordinary resilience of the human body and I also saw the painful gaps in our system, especially for those living with chronic pain.
I know those gaps personally. I lived inside them for more than two decades.
A herniated L5-S1 disc, surgery, recurring pain, emotional exhaustion, medication dependence, and the quiet suffering of pushing through became my norm. I was the strong one - the high-achiever - the one who never asked for help.
Everything changed when I discovered the mind-body connection. It finally made my pain make sense and made healing possible in a way traditional approaches never had.
